Fireball Tim Chat Rescheduled For 12/14/06
Thanks to DB from WhiteRoofRadio.com, we will be attempting a different format for our monthly chat – a Skypecast with live chat (similar to what we did for the 100th episode of WhiteRoofRadio.com). MFMC Virtual Meet #1 – M7 Tuning
Tonight at 9pm EST / 6pm PST, the first Motoring Fun MINI Club (MFMC) “Virtual” Meet will take place with special guest Peter Horvath from M7 Tuning. The meet will take place in the Motoring Fun chat room (in the room labeled “MFMC Meet”). There are a limited number of spaces available, so get there early!
The chat will be moderated to keep things from getting too chaotic ;). This basically means that at certain times, the room may be muted except for the person asking a question. If you have a question for Peter, please post it in the comments section of this post. Make sure you use the same username when posting the comment that you use in the chat room in order for us to grant you a “voice” while your question is being discussed in case you have a follow-up comment or question during the response. Be prepared to re-type your question when you are give a voice in the room. See you tonight!

Announcing The MotoringFun.com MINI Club
Have you ever gone to a MINI meet with your local MINI club? If not, you REALLY need to get out and go to one. They are a BLAST! I have met some of the nicest people through my local club’s MINI events. Just having the chance to talk to other MINI enthusiasts and learning various tidbits about the car from the discussions is worth the effort to attend one.
Over the past couple of weeks, the chat room has hosted some great discussion and people are starting to get to know eachother and form a virtual MINI club of sorts. As a result, I would like to announce that the MotoringFun.com MINI Club has been officially formed and YOU are a member if you have registered for a chat room screen name! Club badges are in the works!
Since we are all in various states and countries, it is not feasable to physically have a meet on a monthly basis like local clubs often do. Instead, we are going to be hosting monthly “Virtual” MINI Meets for the MotoringFun.com MINI Club. For each meet we will try to have a special guest that everyone should know. I am happy to announce that M7 Tuning and Fireball Tim have already agreed to be our guests for our first two events, respectively!
Going forward, the meet schedule will be posted on the Chat page located at:

I may set up a separate “MF MINI Club” page, but if I do I will post an update on the home page.

MotoringFun.com MINI Chat Room Now Open
Since the WhiteRoofRadio.com chat was such a hit, I decided that a permanent chat server might be a great idea. I was even thinking of scheduling special chat events on various MINI-related topics. To accomplish this, I had to find some decent chat software. Parachat was quick and free, but I did not like that is was not hosted on my server and I did not have full control over it. X7 Chat seemed to be quite robust and allows for more of a community experience. Users can send mail messages back and forth in the system, create rooms, and of course send PMs. I really like the layout and I hope you do to. Check back soon for an updated shedule of chat events.
