MTTS 2016: Day 5 – Pittsburgh, PA – Detroit, MI

IMG_0890Today we went to a horse racing track. They had breakfast and we watched horses with people riding on them which was pretty cool.

IMG_6882After the horse race we went to Lisbon, Ohio where the invention of the straw was made. Then we went to the Steel Trolley Diner where I ate french toast and oatmeal with friends from Ohio.

Then we went on these hilly roads on route 30 in Ohio. We finally ended the day at the Eastern Market in Detroit, MI.

MTTS 2016: Day 4 – Baltimore, MD – Pittsburgh, PA

Today we went from  Baltimore to Pittsburgh. The first thing we did today was go under a highway and hang out for the morning event. My dad also won the Online Activist award for the day for Feeding America Defy Hunger Team Challenge. Our team is in 3rd place overall which is cool.

We then went to this really cool elephant candy store. Here is a picture of some candy in the store.

IMG_4673After the candy store we went on a bunch of CRAZY twisty roads which really freaked me out but I had fun. Then we went to the Flight 93 Memorial which was very interesting because the plane crashed there from the passengers of the plane. I wrote a message as you can see below.

IMG_4140We then went to the soccer stadium  in Pittsburgh and we closed off the night.

MTTS 2016: Day 3 – Richmond, VA – Baltimore, Maryland

Today we went to the Richmond International Speedway, An ice cream shop, and the B&O Railroad Museum. Richmond International Speedway was alright because we got to drive around the track except that the track was so tiny and we only did half a lap on the track. When we went to the ice cream shop which is called Moo Thru, I got cotton candy ice cream and gummy bears.

IMG_2009The ice cream was so good. Anyways after the ice cream we drove to the B&O Railroad Museum. It had a bunch of cool trains. Here is a picture of me inside a train pretending to be a conductor.

MTTS 2016: Day 2 – Charlotte, NC – Richmond, VA

Today was an AWESOME day because I went to Kings Dominion. It is a theme park 20 miles north of Richmond. They have a lot of roller coasters there. Anyways, in the morning we went to Charlotte Motor Speedway. We went around the track and it was fun. There was also this cool 3D ground art.

IMG_9426So back to Kings Dominion, We got there at 4:00 in the afternoon and we went on all the major rides except the super crazy one which is the Intimidator 305. First we went on the Mini Cooper Roller Coaster then we did the Volcano coaster which turned out to be EVERYONE’S favorite because it was so awesome. Then we did the Flight Of Fear which is the craziest ride besides the Intimidator 305. After Flight Of Fear we all went on the Anaconda which kind of messed me up a little bit. Then we had lunch which was a $16.00 hamburger which is INSANE. We then went on the racing coaster called the Rebel Yell. Then we did the Grizzly which is a bad wooden coaster that messed up my wrist and legs.

IMG_2779After the Grizzly we went on the DOMINATOR which was everyone’s second favorite. This is a picture of me and my dad at the entrance of Kings Dominion with the DOMINATOR.IMG_2579

MTTS 2016: Day 1 – Atlanta, GA – Charlotte, NC

Today was an interesting day because we stopped at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Sac O Suds from the movie, My Cousin Vinny. We also went to a tea room in South Carolina and then went to the NASCAR Hall Of Fame.

The Atlanta Motor Speedway was cool because they had 2 skydivers land into minis and we also drove around the track. The Sac O Suds was cool because you were on the movie set from My Cousin Vinny. They had Tuna also but no one stole it. The tea room was weird because I don’t really drink tea but it was alright.

The picture above is my dad and me next to the global head of Mini Cooper. His name was Sebastian and he is German. The tea room was kind of weird except for a popcorn machine but it was out of popcorn so that was a bummer. The NASCAR Hall Of Fame was cool because we got to see the Hudson Hornet from the movie, Cars.

This is a picture of me doing a pit crew challenge and also Matt Kenseth’s car, who is my favorite driver.

MTTS 2016: Day 0.5 – Jacksonville, FL – Atlanta, GA

Today we were in Florida and we crossed the border to Georgia. What we did today was eat donuts at Tom Bush Mini, Eat some lunch, sign in for the real MTTS, and then have some fun eating at a chicken place. These are the donuts we all ate at Tom Bush Mini.

When we all ate donuts at Tom Bush Mini, it was awesome. They had almost all of the flavors. Chocolate Glazed, Jelly, Double Chocolate, and so much more. We ate lunch at Luckie Street Bistro in Hazlehurst, Georgia and I had cheese pizza although the cheese kept falling off so they should just call it cheeseless pizza. We then went to this other place in Georgia called Ponce City Market. We saw some minis with the front hood open so you could see the engine and all the other stuff inside it. Anyways, when we got to Ponce City Market we registered for MTTS for the whole way. For some strange reason I keep hearing people that they are going to end in Baltimore, Maryland.

This is a picture of me and my dad to close off this blog post. Thanks for reading.

MTTS 2016: Day 0 – MINI Takes Florida

One of the official feeder events for MINI Takes The States 2016 kicked off earlier this week at Vista MINI in Coconut Creek, FL.  The event is called MINI Takes Florida (www.minitakesflorida.com) and it provides an exciting opportunity to motor with other MINIacs from MINI dealer to MINI dealer across the state for some good food and fun activities.

Today’s route took Christian and I meeting up with a few others at the West Palm Beach service plaza on Florida’s Turnpike where I ran into a family sporting some very nice superhero attire.  Naturally, we had to take a photo with Clark as the backdrop.

Our first stop of the day was at Orlando MINI where a very nice catered lunch awaited us.

We then motored over to MINI of Daytona Beach to check out that new dealership and have some dessert and more goodies.

Next we headed up to Jacksonville to stop at Tom Bush MINI for a nice, catered dinner, followed by indoor go-karting at Autobahn Indoor Speedway.

While we were in Jacksonville, a good friend of mine, Mike, purchased a 2004 MINI Cooper S MC40 special edition (number 486 out of 1,000).  We congratulate Mike and welcome him into the MINI family!!

Tomorrow we leave Jacksonville after a breakfast at Tom Bush MINI and head to Atlanta for the official kickoff of MINI Takes The States 2016!!

MTTS 2016: Introduction

Hello, my name is Christian, and I am going on Mini Takes The States 2016 with my dad. I will be going to post each day on Mini Takes The States with my dad along the journey. What I am most excited about this trip is Kings Dominion in Virginia and Nickelodeon Universe at The Mall Of The Americas. Kings Dominion is a theme park which has a Mini Cooper roller coaster which I am very excited about going on. Nickelodeon Universe is also a theme park but it is in Minnesota. It has Nickelodeon themed rides. I am also looking forward to the Grand Canyon. Hopefully you will read this each day to follow alongside with me and my dad.
