Lower Is Better

Can you spot the difference between the 2 photos below? If your answer is “no”, move along… there’s probably nothing on this site that interests you lol. If you answered “yes” and immediately noticed that the photo on the bottom shows an F56 MINI Cooper S with a properly lowered suspension, keep reading…In the latest transformation, Clark has been fitted with NM Engineering RS Alpha lowering springs which removes that unsightly wheel gap that is prevalent on the F56 MINIs. Total drop is about 1.3 inches and ride quality, while more aggressive, is still comfortable. Keep in mind, I am also coming from a lowered R53 with full coil over suspension that would make your teeth hurt on the right surfaces so my tolerances are probably a bit more on the aggressive side lol. A set of NM Engineering Rear Control Arms were used to set rear camber at -1.5 that should provide great handling without chewing up the insides of the rear tires too much. Overall, the car feels amazing!! So far, handling has been improved in that there is much less body roll when taking a hard corner and with the lower stance, a more visceral connection with the road is felt. I would almost even go so far as to say it brings me back to my R53 days. Next on the list of upgrades is the JCW brake kit, which will require new wheels. Once I have more information on those items I will let you know. Now if you will excuse me, I have to go find an excuse to go drive again ;).
