R56 Tuners Hard At Work Already
AutoMotoPortal.com has a pretty cool article on what some early R56 tuners are working on. Hamann has added a pretty sharp looking aero kit, sporty intake, exhaust and height-adjustable coilover suspension to make one cool-looking R56 MINI. They are also offering custom interior work. Not too shabby looking, I must say.
R56 Production Frozen? UPDATE
Last week I had posted about a production freeze regarding the R56. Details were not known, but it did not sound good. Looks like we now have confirmation through MotoringFile that there is indeed a production delay due to a leaky fuel pump on the Cooper S. For more details, check out the link below:

R56 to Make North American Debut at 2007 NAIAS in Detroit
Looks like we will get to see the R56 in January at the North American International Auto Show. According to this article from Auto Spectator, the second generation MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S will make their debut at the show alongside the new MINI Convertible Sidewalk edition. R56 Production Frozen?
Has anyone heard of a short freeze on production on the R56? I was told today from a reliable source that there is an issue with the R56’s front hood and how it meets the front wheel arches. Apparently there is a gap that is just too large for the likes of quality assurance techs. I am told that the freeze should just be for a day or so in order to make the needed adjustments on the production line. Anyone else have any information on this?
