Double-ended Mini Cooper

uberreview.com and AVING.net posted up some interesting photos of a double-ended Classic Mini Cooper. Yes that’s right – a Mini Cooper with 2 bonnets :). See for yourself!

For many people a car like Mini Cooper is already a pleasure to see, so just imagine a Double-ended Mini Copper that enables users to drive in both directions.

That type of car was what BMW presented in Techno Classica Essen 2007, a Car Show that took place in Germany.

I guess 2 people canĂt be driving this Mini at the same time, or else the final result will be a disaster.

  1. The people who did the MINI Limo (aka MINI XXL) did the two sided new MINI at SEMA…a little known fact.
They might have done this one as well..

  2. I built this Mini at longbridge. I was approached by an Engineerand asked if it could be done, it was built without any drawings, two body shells were put on a Global jig and i dimensioned it out, it took two weeks to build the shell complete before it was ready for painting

  3. Sorry no pictures, what would you like to know and i’ll try and explain

  4. I built this in the Training school at longbride which was located in the West Works, i was a BIW training instructor while i worked for Rover, it could be driven by Two people or 4 people could help to operate the brakes Clutch and steer, the Body Shell was Two complete shells that I put on Global Jig and looked at the best way to split and retain some of the strength, because a Mini body is not straight but curved I had to split and pull the body sides and roof apart so the body flowed, internal sills were made from 1/8″ steel to strengthen and keep it all in shape, ow did you know that a mini body it twisted, I only found this out when i cut off the back end of both donor bodies, on the diag its about 6mm out of square
