Shots Fired At AMVIV?

If you have not had a chance to listen to AMVIV Live! – Show #3, it looks like a few MINIs were damaged at last night’s Vegas Strip Cruise when some rowdy spectators decided to fire some BB guns at the line of MINIs on the street! Thankfully no one was hurt. Hopefully those MINIs that were damaged will make a speedy recovery. For more information, check out AMVIV Live!

Podcast: AMVIV Live! – Part 3

We just finished recording AMVIV Live! – Show #3 and have it ready for download! A huge thanks to Agro, Will and Fireball Tim for joining us over the past 3 nights. For those of us who could not make it to Vegas for AMVIV, it was nice to hangout and get first-hand accounts of the days’ activities.

Thank you to all who showed up each night in the MotoringFun.com chat room and the MotoringFun.com hotline where the broadcast was able to be listened to live. Depending on your feedback, we may try that format again for future virtual meets.

AMVIV Live! – Part 1

We just wrapped up our first ever MotoringFun.com audio event – AMVIV Live! and I think it went ok. We normally have our monthly meets in the chat room with no audio, but this time our special guests were live from A MINI Vacation In Vegas and called in to chat. Agro from Sin City Minis and Will from M7 Tuning joined us on the MotoringFun.com hotline and shared their experience thus far with AMVIV 4!

Let me say upfront that this is the first time we have tried something like this and we are, by no means, professional podcasters or broadcasters. Hopefully you will enjoy the show, nonetheless. We will give it another try tomorrow night and Saturday night at the same time each night (9:30pm EST / 6:30pm PST). Hope you can join us!

MyMini/Minspeed Dyno Day – Video

I know many of you have been e-mailing me asking where the video from the MyMini Dyno Day was… Well – it took me a while to find some time to edit the various pieces of footage together and put it all in one video. The video starts off with my car (Scooter) getting a baseline dyno run and then getting the JCW Exhaust with the MyMini/Minspeed resonator eliminator and JCW intake installed. Then various dyno runs are shown, ending it all with an MCS with a nitros sprayer! Enjoy!

MyMini Dyno Day – Part 2

If you have not had a chance to check out “MyMini Dyno Day – Part 1“, make sure you take a few minutes to read over it. In today’s article, I compiled all the data from the various cars that attended the MyMini Dyno Day, including mod lists, to give you an idea of what you can expect from certain mods. Unfortunately, I don’t have baseline data for the modded cars (except for mine) so there is no way to tell where they started from. Regardless, it should provide an interesting read. Please note that some runs were done with the famous blue wind tunnel contraption and some were just done with a large fan. If you see a car with one run higher than the other, chances are that run was done with the blue wind tunnel on the intercooler. Make sure you also check out the pictures in the gallery from the dyno day as well. I am working on a short video compilation of the various dyno runs and hope to have that posted soon too! Well enough of all that – now onto the results….

MyMini Dyno Day – Part 1

On January 20, 2007, MotoringFun.com sponsor, MyMini, hosted a “Winter Dyno Day” in South Florida. Granted, most will not consider 68 degrees winter weather, but I’ll take it! We had approximately 15 MINIs come out for this event, inlcluding my own 2006 MINI Cooper S, known as “Scooter”. I had been eagerly anticipating this dyno day for a few months as I wanted to get a baseline dyno reading on my car in stock configuration before the modifications began. The modifications that are planned are not extreme by any means, however, before I started upgrading parts I wanted to see what our friends from Oxford gave me.
